The Castellón Port Authority (APC – Autoridad Portuaria de Castellón) is a public body responsible, in general terms, for the planning, development and implementation of projects, building, conservation and operation of the works and services of the port. It was created in 1903 and stands out for its geostrategic location, making it the gateway to the Mediterranean, Africa, the Middle East and the Black Sea, with many regular services to these destinations. Other services connect it to more than 101 countries around the globe. It is in ninth place out of the 46 Spanish ports of general interest and is consolidated in second position in solid bulk. It is a strong element for the growth of the economy and employment in Castellón. Its perfect logistical network is at the service of the productive sectors of the province.
The Port Authority has around 132 employees, and is divided into the following departments and areas which are jointly coordinated to push the port to a strategic position on a national and international level, which include:
