The team has various experties in chemical oceanography, physical oceanography and ecology. Strong focus on ocean acidification in current projects (Comfort, CE2COAST). Increasing focus on environmental impact of salmon sea-pen aquaculture.

We (MFRI Iceland) would like to join a consortia aiming to expand understanding state and health of marine coastal systems and ecosystems and providing support to decision making processes and policies implementation. We have collected various data on the ocean environment and ecosystems and we are interested in ecosystem functioning and forcasting state and evolution of ecosystems.
We are also interested in projects aiming to make aquaculture (with national focus on open sea-pen fish aquaclture) more sustainable.
