a project to join
My research activities are aimed at characterizing the risk induced by the presence in the environment of organic contaminants such as pesticides, drugs and personal care.
In addition to academic research, I have also gained experience in the regulatory field both at in Italian Ministry of Health and as an expert in Environmental risk assessment for pharmaceutical used for veterinary purposes (VMPs) at the European Medicine Agency (EMA).
With the EMA working group I am working on the increasingly emerging issue of use of VMPs in aquaculture.
PA4 - Green transition of Blue Food production
I am looking for a project in which the risk associated with the use of medicines and/or feed additives in aquaculture is relevant to be calculated.
Balance between risk and benefit of the use of a veterinary medicine products are startegic for both the need to protect to the marine ecosystem in the vicinity of and/or underneath seafood production facilities and to maintain the productivity of the fish farms.
In this framework, the creation of a list of the strategies that can be put in place to mitigate the ecological risk could be a focal point.
I therefore offer my compentences for a project dealing with the transition to more sustainable food.
