My expertise / skills :	The ILVO cattle research group has a vast experience in cattle nutrition. Recent years we are expanding our skills in microbiome analysis (using qPCR and 16S amplicon sequencing)of the rumen and gastro-intestinal tract. Besides microbiota, we are also interested in the experession and functions of miRNAs. Last year, a research project was started to identify the relation between rumen and GIT microbiome diversity and host health and performance, with special focus on the role of colostrum in calf health. ILVO has a cattle research barn with about 130 lactating Holstein cows.
