PhD researcher in environmental law (University of Sussex), based at BAU UNITAR CIFAL Istanbul, Türkiye. I am looking to join a consortium as a legal and governance contributor, particularly on Theme C (equitable sharing of biodiversity benefits) and on how legal frameworks respond to novel ecosystems. Eligible for funding via TÜBİTAK, subject to national rules. Member of the Istanbul Bar; LLM in environmental law (Bristol).

I am a PhD researcher in environmental law at the University of Sussex (UK), based at BAU UNITAR CIFAL Istanbul, Türkiye. My doctoral research examines biodiversity-related climate change litigation: how legal challenges shape biodiversity conservation and environmental governance, and where they fall short.
I would like to join a consortium as a legal and governance contributor. I can contribute to:
Theme C: the legal and institutional conditions for equitable sharing of biodiversity benefits (rights, access, accountability);
Themes B and C: how conservation and climate law, which often relies on historical baselines and restoration targets, applies to novel ecosystems;
legal and policy analysis within a work package, including comparative work on EU, UK and Turkish law and litigation.
I am a member of the Istanbul Bar Association and hold an LLM in environmental law from the University of Bristol. As a Türkiye-based partner, I would seek national funding through TÜBİTAK, subject to its eligibility rules.
