I am an Associate Professor at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, specializing in forest biodiversity, forest ecology, climate resilience, sustainable forest management, and forest and environmental legislation. My research focuses on forest genetic resources, forest regeneration, ecosystem resilience, and physiological and biochemical responses of forest species to abiotic stress. I have expertise in experimental design, field and laboratory investigations, statistical analysis, GIS/UAV applications, and forest ecosystem monitoring. I have coordinated research and innovation projects and participated as a researcher in national and international multidisciplinary projects. My experience includes project management, research implementation, scientific reporting, and dissemination. I have also supervised Bachelor's and Master's theses and serve as Guest Editor, Editorial Board member, and reviewer for international scientific journals. I am interested in contributing to international projects addressing novel forest ecosystems, biodiversity dynamics, ecological restoration, climate adaptation, and adaptive forest management.
Forestry and forest sciences
We are developing an international research proposal for the Biodiversa+ BiodivFuture Call 2026–2027, focusing on biodiversity dynamics, climate resilience, and future trajectories of emerging forest ecosystems in Europe. The project aims to investigate how climate change and environmental pressures influence forest biodiversity, natural regeneration, species composition, and ecosystem functioning. An integrated approach combining field assessments, ecophysiological and biochemical analyses, GIS/UAV monitoring, and climate-related indicators will be used to evaluate ecosystem responses and potential future trajectories. The research will also explore implications for biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration, and adaptive forest management, including relevant socio-ecological and policy dimensions. The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, is seeking international research partners with expertise in forest ecology, biodiversity monitoring, ecosystem modelling, conservation biology, and socio-ecological research to jointly develop a competitive proposal.
I am interested in participating in international scientific conferences, Biodiversa+ networking events, and research matchmaking activities related to forest biodiversity, ecosystem resilience, climate change adaptation, and sustainable forest management. I am available for online meetings with potential international partners to discuss collaboration opportunities and jointly develop a competitive research proposal.
