Episome Biotech is a biotechnology company based in Türkiye, specialising in beneficial microorganisms, industrial enzymes and biological solutions for agriculture and biomass valorisation. Our expertise includes microbial isolation, high-density bacterial fermentation and the development of stable microbial formulations. Our agricultural R&D covers nitrogen-fixing and phosphate-solubilising microorganisms, biofertilisers and biological crop protection. We also develop microbial and enzymatic processes for converting biomass and organic residues into renewable energy and valuable products.
Within BiodivFuture, we seek to contribute to interdisciplinary research on microbial processes, ecosystem functioning and biodiversity outcomes in changing agricultural landscapes and associated novel ecosystems. For projects involving pelemir and other low-input cropping systems, we could develop and supply microbial formulations for comparative experiments and work with ecological research partners to investigate nutrient cycling, plant–soil interactions and the ecological benefits and trade-offs of biological inputs.
**Keywords:** Microbial biotechnology; Biofertilisers and biocontrol; Biomass valorisation; Circular bioeconomy.

Episome Biotech seeks to join a BiodivFuture consortium exploring how low-input agriculture interacts with novel ecosystems in changing agricultural landscapes. We are particularly interested in pelemir-based cropping systems and neighbouring habitats whose ecological communities and functions have changed from historical conditions.
Our proposed contribution is to test how microbial biofertilisers and biological crop protection influence nutrient cycling, plant performance and ecological outcomes. Working with research partners, we would compare biological-input and conventional management practices over repeated field seasons, linking crop responses to soil functioning and biodiversity indicators. Benefits, unintended effects and trade-offs would be assessed rather than assumed.
This contribution primarily addresses Theme A (ecosystem functioning), with links to Theme B through future management scenarios and Theme C through farmer participation and the distribution of costs and benefits. We seek partners in ecology, soil science, biodiversity monitoring and socio-economic analysis to design comparative studies across countries and evaluate landscape-level implications. Episome would contribute microbial formulations, fermentation expertise and laboratory support.
Upcoming conference attendance: to be confirmed. We welcome online meetings with BiodivFuture applicants to explore partnerships on novel ecosystems, soil biodiversity and microbial biotechnology.
