Associate Professor of Information Management at National Central University, Taiwan, specialising in Human-Centered AI, digital resilience and vulnerability, socio-technical systems, and technology-enabled community adaptation. My research examines how digital technologies, AI, participatory systems and environmental information can support individuals and communities in understanding environmental change, developing adaptive capabilities, and making inclusive and resilient decisions. Current work includes community environmental risk perception, participatory environmental monitoring, local climate adaptation, digital inclusion, and human-centered AI-supported decision-making. I contribute expertise in socio-technical research design, surveys and experiments, participatory and community-based research, AI/data analytics, digital decision-support systems, and cross-country comparative studies. I am particularly interested in bridging ecological science with human adaptation, environmental justice, citizen participation and digital innovation. Key expertise: Human-Centered AI; Digital Resilience; Community Adaptation; Participatory Environmental Intelligence.
We are developing a BiodivFuture concept examining how ecological transformations and human adaptation trajectories interact in shaping equitable and resilient socio-ecological futures. ECO-ADAPT will connect changes in biodiversity, ecosystem functioning and ecosystem services with how communities perceive environmental change, develop adaptive capabilities, participate in environmental decisions and respond to emerging novel ecosystems. We are particularly interested in how scientific monitoring, citizen-generated data, local knowledge and AI-supported environmental intelligence can be translated into actionable knowledge for communities and decision-makers. Taiwan can contribute community living-lab research, participatory environmental monitoring, human-centered digital systems and comparative socio-technical research. We seek partners in novel ecosystem ecology, biodiversity and ecosystem services, landscape/urban ecology, remote sensing and environmental modelling, particularly partners able to contribute ecological indicators, field sites and longitudinal environmental data. An experienced European ecological partner interested in scientific coordination or co-coordination would be especially welcome.
