I am looking for a project to join
The Fair Finance Institute (FaFin) is an independent, non-profit-think-and-do tank at the intersection of finance, sustainability, research, policy and civil society. FaFin’s expertise centres on how financial systems and instruments, investment decisions and economic incentives can support socio-ecological transformation and biodiversity-positive outcomes.
FaFin combines applied research with policy-oriented analysis and stakeholder engagement on sustainable finance, responsible investment, financial-market regulation, impact investing and innovative financing approaches. Its biodiversity-related work addresses, amongst other, Nature-based Solutions, Nature Credits and the alignment of financial flows with biodiversity objectives.
A particular strength is bridging biodiversity with financing aspects. FaFin works across research, public policy, finance, business and civil society and translates complex evidence into actionable knowledge, policy recommendations and practical approaches. FaFin has a highly interdisciplinary team bringing together expertise from different academic fields. This allows the institute to approach biodiversity from multiple perspectives and to contribute expertise across different thematic areas.
FaFin is particularly interested in transdisciplinary research on the role of finance, economic incentives and governance in biodiversity protection, restoration and transformative change.

We are looking to join transnational biodiversity research projects that are interested in taking financial aspects into account, such as biodiversity in investment decisions, aspects of financial risk management, or private and/or public-private instruments to finance the protection and/or restoration of nature and ecosystems.
FaFin can contribute expertise on sustainable and biodiversity finance, responsible investment, impact investing and innovative financing mechanisms.
As an applied research and knowledge organisation, FaFin can contribute investor and financial-sector perspectives, stakeholder networks and experience in science-policy-practice dialogue. Potential contributions include research and analysis, assessment of financial mechanisms and incentives, stakeholder engagement, co-development of research questions and solutions, and translation of findings into policy recommendations and practical guidance.
FaFin is especially interested in projects that combine ecological and socio-economic perspectives, involve non-academic stakeholders in knowledge co-production, and generate actionable knowledge for systemic change.
