I am looking for a project to join
I am an environmental geographer trained as a social scientist with a 30 year track record of interdisciplinary research on European coastal zones. In my scholarship I deploy a range of social scientific methods to understand societal engagement with nature, and evaluate the effectiveness of governance arrangements. I value working with natural scientists to build deeper understanding of social-ecological systems, and mobilising research knowledge to develop practicable approaches for practitioners and communities.

Key Fields of Investigation:
Marine Protected Areas
Marine Spatial Planning
Shoreline Management
Climate Change Adaptation
Spatial planning and urban development
I would like to join a project under themes A, B or C which requires social science input, especially any which relate to marine protected areas.
governance, marine protected areas, marine spatial planning, shoreline management, climate change adaptation, policy, institutions, community engagement, effectiveness of marine conservation
IMCC8, 13-17 Nov 2026 Edinburgh will be after BiodivFuture R1 deadline but good for planning R2
