Good expertise in population ecology and evolutionary biology: I use a variety of quantitative methods to investigate biological processes at the individual (survival, mortality, growth, dispersal, movement), population (abundance, population trajectories) and community levels (multispecies occupancy, local extinction-colonization dynamics). I have worked in a variety of ecosystems (marine, freshwater terrestrial) and taxa (seabirds, butterflies, chelonians, salmonids, amphibians, cod, lobster, marine mammals) and I have been involved in the adaptive management of marine protected areas and in the sustainable use of local resources (harvest). I can also bring to the project a large network of collaborators from different countries (Spain, France, Norway, USA) and scientific areas (Biostatistics, Marine science, MPAs, Telemetry, Seabirds, Fisheries, Marine mammals, Coastal and Freshwater ecology, Arctic ecosystems).

I want to join projects that need or would like to have a Norwegian partner and are conducting research on how novel ecosystems function by looking at biological processes at different scales (individual, population and community levels) and that also require expertise in advanced quantitative tools (i.e. hierarchical modelling, hidden-Markov models, occupancy models, demographic analyses etc.). I will bring my research expertise, skills and scientific network to the project.
