I am an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Moldova, specialising in plant and forest protection, applied and forest entomology, biodiversity, phytosanitary monitoring and integrated pest management. My research addresses agricultural and forest pests, beneficial insects, insect–plant interactions, forest health, pest population dynamics, outbreak forecasting and sustainable control methods. I represent a multidisciplinary team with expertise in horticulture, vegetable production, plant micropropagation, protected cultivation, plant pathology, agricultural systems, soil science and biodiversity conservation. We study beneficial and harmful organisms, pollinators, plant diseases, plant–pest–pathogen interactions and the effects of agricultural practices and environmental change on biodiversity. The Faculty has laboratories for crop science and plant protection, soil science, plant micropropagation and molecular biology, as well as experimental greenhouses, a newly established orchard and university field plots. These facilities support field, laboratory and greenhouse experiments, biodiversity and phytosanitary monitoring, soil and plant analyses, production of healthy planting material, molecular investigations, and testing of integrated pest and disease management methods. Main skills: plant and forest protection; applied and forest entomology; phytosanitary and biodiversity monitoring; integrated pest management.

We are interested in joining a BiodivFuture consortium studying how climate change, land-use transformation, agricultural intensification, land abandonment and biological invasions contribute to the emergence and future trajectories of novel ecosystems. Our team can provide an Eastern European case study integrating field crops and horticultural production—including vegetables, orchards, vineyards and protected cultivation—with plant health, biodiversity conservation and climate responses in agricultural and forest ecosystems. We are interested in how drought, land-use change and management reshape plant, insect and pathogen communities; influence interactions among crops, spontaneous vegetation, pollinators, beneficial insects, pests and plant diseases; and affect pest dynamics, ecosystem services and resilience. We can contribute field, laboratory and greenhouse experiments; biodiversity and phytosanitary monitoring; assessment of crop and forest pests, beneficial insects and plant diseases; plant micropropagation and molecular investigations; soil and plant analyses; and testing of sustainable management approaches. Our greenhouses, orchard and field plots can support comparative research. We seek to participate as a Moldovan partner in a transnational European consortium, contributing data, study sites and stakeholder engagement. We welcome collaboration across Europe in ecology, climate science, remote sensing, modelling and biodiversity conservation.
Our team is available for online BiodivFuture consortium-building meetings and bilateral discussions with potential European partners. As the contact person, I also participate in COST Actions CA22129 InsectAI and CA21134 T0P-AGRI-Network, which provide networking opportunities with researchers in entomology, biodiversity, plant protection and sustainable agriculture.
