Expertise: I am a Professor specializing in Remote Sensing, Landscape Ecology, and Spatial Information. I utilize AI, Deep Learning, and UAV-LiDAR to monitor forest regeneration, assess post-disaster recovery, and build Agent-Based System Dynamics (ABM-SD) models for socio-ecological systems. Keywords:AI Digital Twins, UAV-LiDAR, ABM-SD Modeling, Socio-Ecological Systems, Forest Restoration.Ongoing
Projects: As PI for projects funded by Taiwan’s NSTC, I lead a subtropical research platform for post-disturbance forest restoration. We integrate 3D UAV-LiDAR and high-frequency eco-hydrological sensors across extreme-stress landscapes, translating ecological data into "FSC-ready" digital audit indicators for certification bodies.

Our team at Feng Chia University (Taiwan) seeks to join a consortium addressing the BiodivFuture call (Themes A, B, or C) regarding novel ecosystems and socio-ecological dynamics. We bring four unique assets to significantly boost your proposal’s Excellence and Impact:
1. 100% Secured Funding: Taiwan’s NSTC budget (€270k/project) has extremely low domestic competition. Once a consortium is internationally recommended, our funding is virtually guaranteed. We are a financially zero-risk partner.
2. Advanced Tech & ABM-SD Modeling: We can lead WPs in monitoring and modeling. We specialize in AI Forest Digital Twins (UAV-LiDAR/TLS-SLAM for 3D biomass estimation with ≤15% error and deep-learning species classification) and Agent-Based System Dynamics (ABM-SD) to model socio-ecological feedback between human governance (logging, indigenous co-management) and forest succession.
3. Subtropical "Stress-Test" Sites: We provide fully operational, instrumented forest sites in Taiwan. As a hotspot for extreme typhoons/rainfall, our sites offer the ultimate "stress-test" gradient to validate if your boreal/temperate restoration theories hold true globally under extreme disturbances.
4. Direct Policy Impact: Through direct collaboration with FSC and SGS, we translate ecological findings into actionable, "FSC-ready" digital audit indicators to maximize your proposal's Impact score.
Networking Opportunities: I will be visiting the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) in November 2026 to coordinate with European forestry and ecology partners regarding the BiodivFuture call. I am highly open to scheduling in-person meetings in Europe during this trip.
Given the mandatory pre-proposal deadline on November 10, I am also fully available for immediate virtual matchmaking meetings via Teams/Zoom throughout October 2026 to discuss consortium building and WP leadership.
