I am looking for a project to join
Eco Loop is a freshwater ecosystem restoration organisation working at the interface between ecological restoration, biodiversity recovery and practical implementation.

We operate in highly modified agricultural landscapes where biodiversity loss, habitat fragmentation, eutrophication and altered river systems present significant challenges for ecosystem recovery. Working in close collaboration with municipalities, water authorities, local stakeholders and volunteer networks, we develop and implement restoration measures that support both species recovery and wider ecosystem functioning.

Our expertise includes stream and river restoration, fish breeding in a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS), the propagation of freshwater mussels, including the thick-shelled river mussel (Unio crassus), propagation and reintroduction of aquatic and riparian plants, species recovery, habitat enhancement and ecosystem-based restoration approaches.

Our organisation consists of a multidisciplinary team including three biologists with extensive experience in freshwater ecosystem restoration, species recovery and biodiversity management. We work closely with research institutions, including the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and DTU Aqua, and have experience contributing to collaborative research and innovation activities. We also contribute to activities within EU LIFE projects.

We are looking to join a Biodiversa+ project as an implementation partner and demonstration site for biodiversity recovery in freshwater ecosystems.

We can provide access to restoration sites, practical implementation expertise and established collaborations with municipalities, water authorities, local stakeholders and volunteer networks. We are particularly interested in projects addressing freshwater biodiversity, habitat restoration, ecological connectivity, species recovery, nature-based solutions and community engagement.

Our contribution would focus on testing, demonstrating and validating biodiversity restoration approaches under real-world conditions, while supporting stakeholder involvement and the transfer of knowledge from research to practice.

No conferences are currently planned. However, we are always available for informal, no-obligation discussions with potential project partners and would be happy to explore possible collaboration opportunities.
