I am looking for a project to join
I am interested in detecting how extreme weather events impacts areas of interest for biodiversity monitoring. My previous work has developed automated methods for detecting changes to landcover as a result of extreme weather events. I would like to link this to impacts on biodiversity.

Remote sensing, change detection, landslides, geology, vegetation change, satellite image processing.

I could contribute to projects connecting extreme weather events and climate change to ecosystem resilience. Landslides, floods, wind storms, and forest fires can decimate habitats where species are not adapted to such events. I would like to link remote sensing of vegetation change to help identify areas that have been affected, to improve understanding of how biodiversity recovers after extreme weather events. Ideally my competence would compliment ground-based studies looking at species recovery.
remote sensing, extreme weather events, change detection, satellite image processing, deep learning, vegetation loss, landslides, floods, storms, climate change
