Public Health and Environmental Health
I am seeking partners for a multidisciplinary BiodivFuture consortium examining the socio-ecological consequences and future trajectories of novel ecosystems in Ethiopia. My expertise includes sociology and social anthropology, environmental and medical sociology, climate–society interactions, biodiversity and ecosystem-service perceptions, livelihoods, social inequality, gender, migration, health, local knowledge, community engagement, and participatory mixed-methods research. The project will examine how biodiversity and ecosystem changes affect communities, livelihoods, health, and inequalities, and how communities, institutions, and different social groups perceive, adapt to, and shape changing ecosystems. I am particularly interested in collaborating with ecological, biodiversity, climate, spatial, One Health, and environmental researchers to integrate social and ecological perspectives. Partners could contribute complementary ecological expertise, spatial or environmental data, comparative perspectives, and methodological collaboration to develop an interdisciplinary understanding of novel ecosystems and their future trajectories.

I am interested in networking with potential BiodivFuture partners through relevant international conferences, research workshops, scientific meetings, and online consortium-building events focused on biodiversity, novel ecosystems, climate change, socio-ecological systems, environmental sustainability, and interdisciplinary research. I am also available for virtual meetings to discuss potential collaboration and consortium development.
