I am a scientist recognized for my research in environmental science, specializing in restoration ecology, climate change, ecosystem functioning and modeling of ecosystem services, biodiversity related to landscape restoration, and environmental and ecological change.
I want to use my skills and experiences in ecosystem functions and landscape ecology to conduct ecological network analysis and support biodiversity conservation. I have extensive experience integrating field data collection, environmental databases, remote sensing, GIS, and models to assess ecological change. I also have experience collecting field data on vegetation and soils, habitat quality, carbon sequestration, hydrology, erosion, ecosystem services, and socio-economic data. I have 33 publications related to my profession.

Ecology

I am interested in joining the indicated Biodiversa+ project because of its strong alignment with my research experience in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, ecosystem services, and climate resilience. My research has focused particularly on understanding how land-use change, environmental stress, and restoration interventions influence biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in Ethiopian landscapes.
I would bring complementary expertise in ecosystem-service assessment, ecological modelling, remote sensing, GIS, field-based biodiversity assessment, and machine-learning approaches. I am particularly interested in contributing by linking biodiversity changes with ecosystem functioning and environmental drivers, while generating evidence to support effective restoration and biodiversity management.
Joining the project would also be an excellent opportunity to strengthen international collaboration, integrate my experience from data-scarce African landscapes into a broader comparative research framework, and contribute to scientifically robust, policy-relevant approaches to biodiversity conservation and restoration.
