I am a biodiversity researcher and educator at the University of Groningen, specializing in urban wildlife conservation, human–animal coexistence, and multispecies studies. My work combines animal geographies, citizen conservation practices, and field-based natural history to explore how people and wildlife share cities. I am particularly interested in coexistence in urban spaces with wildlife, examining everyday practices of tolerance, care, and cohabitation between humans and animals such as bats in domestic and public environments

I am seeking partners to join an interdisciplinary project on urban wildlife conservation and human–wildlife coexistence. As a potential partner, we can bring expertise in the social conservation of urban wildlife, focusing on how societal issues, power relations, and multispecies entanglements shape conservation practice. My work centers on everyday coexistence between humans and wildlife in cities, using interdisciplinary approaches to reveal whose voices, and which species, count in conservation, and to co‑design more just, inclusive, and multispecies‑sensitive conservation strategies within larger urban sustainability projects and urban planning.
