The aim of the project is to focus on pastoral social-ecological systems in East Africa (Kenya, maybe Tanzania) in order, together with local and national stakeholders in these novel SES, to gain a better understanding of the environmental and social dynamics – including economic and political dynamics that impact biodiversity and its services, and to promote the use of future-oriented tools (e.g., foresight, social-ecological system modelling) to support these stakeholders in identifying plausible, desirable and undesirable future states, so that they can negotiate together and agree on a shared vision for their pastoral social-ecological systems.
We will be partnering with the Kenya Wildlife Conservancy Association for national level foresight work to inform national policies (indirectly).
We are open to work with teams which want to work in these East African context or other pastoral landscapes in Europe for example.
We would be willing to team up with foresight specialists, landscape modellers, social scientists especially interested in participatory methodology & environmental justice topics.

We are already 2 French partners, so other contributing countries are welcome!
