I am looking for a partner (for my project)
I am a researcher in Civil and Hydraulic Engineering at ISTEUB, University of Carthage, Tunisia, and a researcher at the Hydrodynamic and Environmental Modelling Laboratory (LMHE–ENIT). My expertise focuses on hydrodynamic and environmental modelling of aquatic and coastal systems, with particular interest in Mediterranean coastal lagoons.

My research combines 2D hydrodynamic modelling, water-quality assessment, GIS and remote sensing to investigate the effects of climate change and anthropogenic pressures on lagoon dynamics, ecological conditions and water resources. I have experience with COMSOL Multiphysics, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM and GIS-based approaches.

My ongoing research includes hydrodynamic modelling of Korba Lagoon, Tunisia, with a focus on water quality, biodiversity, anthropogenic pressures and ecosystem resilience, as well as modelling of other Mediterranean lagoons.

Main skills: Hydrodynamic modelling, Coastal lagoon ecology, Water quality, GIS & remote sensing, Climate change impacts, Flood modelling, Environmental modelling.

NOVALAGO – Novel Mediterranean Coastal Lagoons: Biodiversity, Ecosystem Functioning and Socio-Ecological Trajectories under Climate and Anthropogenic Pressures

NOVALAGO aims to investigate how climate change and interacting anthropogenic pressures are transforming Mediterranean coastal lagoons into potentially novel ecosystem states. The project will combine biodiversity assessment, ecosystem functioning, hydrodynamic and water-quality modelling, remote sensing, and socio-ecological analysis to identify drivers, thresholds, feedbacks and alternative ecosystem trajectories.

The project will use a comparative transnational approach involving Mediterranean lagoon systems in Tunisia and European partner countries. The Tunisian case study will focus on Korba Lagoon, with potential comparison to other Mediterranean lagoons.

We are looking for international research partners, particularly from France, Italy, Spain and other eligible countries, with expertise in biodiversity and ecological monitoring, ecosystem functioning, lagoon ecology, habitat mapping, ecosystem services, socio-ecological systems, stakeholder engagement and/or ecological modelling. Partners are expected to contribute complementary expertise, relevant lagoon case studies and data, methodological approaches, stakeholder networks and participation in the development of future scenarios and management pathways. We are particularly interested in partners willing to contribute to a strong interdisciplinary and trans

BiodivFuture 2026 Joint Transnational Call webinar (September 2026). I am also interested in networking at upcoming international conferences and workshops on biodiversity, Mediterranean coastal lagoons, hydrodynamic and ecological modelling, climate change and socio-ecological systems, particularly in Europe and the Mediterranean region.
