My expertise is in environmental biotechnology and wastewater treatment, with a particular focus on emerging contaminants and their interactions with biological treatment processes. My research covers microplastics, including tire-derived microplastics, microbial community responses, aerobic granular sludge, and the fate and removal of micropollutants in wastewater treatment systems. I also have experience in environmental sample characterization and advanced analytical approaches.

I am looking to join collaborative projects focused on wastewater treatment, emerging contaminants, and environmental biotechnology. My research background includes biological wastewater treatment, microbial processes, microplastics, and micropollutants, with particular interest in their fate and removal from wastewater and sewage sludge. The research group I work in complements this expertise with analytical capabilities for pharmaceuticals, pesticides, heavy metals, and microplastics, as well as research on adsorption and bioremediation. We also have established contacts with a local wetland management authority, providing opportunities to connect research with real environmental systems and management needs. However, I am open to broader interdisciplinary topics and new research directions where my experience and our group's expertise could provide added value.
