I am looking for a project to join
I am looking to join a project as a physical chemist in the field of soil science. I have been a researcher since 1 October 2005 at Gustave Eiffel University, within Soils, Rocks and Geotechnical Structures laboratory of the Geotechnics, Environment, Natural Hazards and Earth Sciences department. My research focuses on characterising the behaviour of clays (and, more generally, fine-grained materials and colloids). Clays possess remarkable properties but are the cause of numerous problems in civil engineering; I therefore study the links between microstructure, mineralogy and macroscopic properties (hydraulic, mechanical and durability properties), and I am interested in the weathering/degradation of materials and its consequences at the macroscopic scale (development of a multi-scale approach through experimentation).I focus on the management of excavated soil within the context of the circular economy (resource recovery, rammed earth construction, the behaviour of urban soils and technosols) and on environmental issues related to geotechnics (geochemistry, pollutant transport, etc.), including structures reinforced with lime or cement, as well as soil remediation using enzymatic (or bacterial) processes. More recently, I took part in a project on building foundations that do not involve land sealing – with no impact on soil biodiversity (a collaboration between specialists in the living and mineral/organic components of the soil)

My research has so far focused on the mineral phase of the soil, and it is now necessary to combine this with the biological aspect in order to better understand the overall behaviour of soils in terms of water management (retention, infiltration, storage), soil stabilisation, erosion control and CO₂ storage. In each case, clays, together with organic matter and microorganisms, play a fundamental role. I would like to contribute my expertise and collaborate with specialists in the field of biology.
