I am a Professor of Psychology at the University of Bergen working at the intersection of environmental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, behavioural science and human-computer interaction. My research examines how people perceive, evaluate and respond to environments and emerging technologies, using experimental, survey and psychophysiological methods. I have experience with nature-exposure research, immersive VR/AR, EEG/ERP and other physiological measures, cross-cultural studies, and the development and validation of psychological measures.
For BiodivFuture, I can contribute expertise on the human dimensions of novel ecosystems, including perception of ecological change, human-nature relationships, risk and benefit appraisal, well-being, behavioural intentions, public acceptance, stakeholder decision-making, and experimental evaluation of future ecosystem scenarios. I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary work combining ecological data with behavioural experiments, immersive simulations, citizen and stakeholder participation, and policy-relevant outcomes.

I am interested in joining an interdisciplinary Biodiversa+ project addressing the human dimensions of biodiversity change, novel ecosystems, ecosystem transformation, or human-nature relationships. My main interest concerns how ecological change affects human perception, well-being, decision-making, attitudes, and behaviour, as well as how psychological and behavioural processes influence responses to biodiversity management and conservation strategies.
I can contribute expertise in environmental psychology, behavioural science, cognitive neuroscience, psychophysiology, and human-computer interaction. Relevant methodological expertise includes experimental and survey research, cross-cultural studies, EEG and physiological measures, psychological scale development, and immersive VR-based simulations of environmental scenarios.
I am particularly interested in projects combining ecological or biodiversity data with behavioural and social-science approaches, stakeholder research, scenario testing, citizen participation, or interventions aimed at supporting sustainable human responses to ecosystem change. I would be interested in contributing to study design, behavioural and psychological measurement, experimental work, data analysis, and dissemination.
