I am an Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). My research focuses on the development and application of advanced LC-MS analytical workflows for the characterization of complex biological, food, and environmental systems. I have extensive experience in: • shotgun proteomics applied to a variety of topics, including nanomedicine, food, metaproteomics, and plant studies. I also worked with method development for the characterization of protein post-translational modifications (phosphorylation, glycosylation). • metabolomics and lipidomics (targeted and untargeted) for the identification of bioactive molecules, natural products, and contaminants and their transformation products in biological and environmental samples. • quantitative LC-MS method development and validation, including trace-level detection of pollutants and emerging contaminants. • development of dedicated sample preparation strategies using advanced sorbent materials.

I am interested in joining a BiodivFuture consortium as a partner. I am looking for projects that could benefit from the addition of LC-MS-based molecular analysis to investigate and describe biodiversity, ecosystems, and environmental change. I can contribute with analytical methods based on LC-MS technologies (both low- and high-resolution MS for targeted quantitative or untargeted qualitative analysis) for the characterization of different types of analytes, including metabolites, lipids, peptides, proteins, pollutants, emerging contaminants and their transformation products. My expertise also includes sample preparation, analytical method development, and MS data analysis. I am open to collaborations in projects where LC-MS-based analytical chemistry can meaningfully support the investigation of ecosystem processes and environmental change.
