I specialise in Earth observation, GeoAI and environmental data science, with a particular focus on large-scale monitoring and assessment of biodiversity, ecosystem change and restoration. My research integrates satellite remote sensing, geospatial big data and advanced AI/machine-learning methods, including multimodal and foundation-model approaches, to map environmental change, quantify biodiversity pressures and risks, and evaluate ecosystem responses to human interventions. I have experience developing scalable workflows from local to national and global scales, including work on habitat and vegetation dynamics, ecosystem restoration, renewable-energy–biodiversity interactions, and climate-related environmental risks. I am particularly interested in contributing EO/GeoAI methods, spatial data integration and large-scale environmental monitoring to interdisciplinary biodiversity projects.
I am interested in joining interdisciplinary Biodiversa+ projects that address biodiversity monitoring, ecosystem change, restoration and the impacts of climate and human pressures on ecosystems. I am particularly keen to contribute Earth observation, GeoAI and environmental data science capabilities to projects that combine ecological knowledge and field observations with satellite and other geospatial data.
I can contribute scalable methods for mapping and monitoring biodiversity-relevant environmental change across local, national and international scales, including multi-source data integration, machine learning, spatial modelling and emerging multimodal/foundation-model approaches. I am especially interested in collaborations where these methods can support the assessment of ecosystem condition, restoration effectiveness, biodiversity pressures and risks, and the development of actionable evidence for conservation and environmental decision-making.
I would be keen to contribute to, or lead, relevant work packages on Earth observation, GeoAI, spatial analysis and large-scale environmental monitoring.
