I am looking for a project to join
Hello!

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (IBB CSIC).

My area of expertise is the ecology and biodiversity of arthropods and insects. To study the impact of land use and climate on arthropods and help improve biodiversity conservation, I worked on the inter- and transdisciplinary BioDivKultur project (Biodivkultur.de) and did a postdoc in the Biodiversity Exploratories project in Germany. In this role, I set up land use experiments and conducted large-scale analyses of anthropogenic impacts on grassland arthropods. With regard to social-ecological aspects of biodiversity, I have previously worked on the interdisciplinary concept of refuges, which could be a promising approach in the context of novel ecosystems.
My current project, NewLIFE4BioIslands (LIFE EU project), contributes to habitat restoration for pollinators in the Mediterranean, where we conduct monitoring pollinators and invertebrates and establish protocols and methods for our collaborators.

At the IBB, I work in an interdisciplinary lab focusing primarily on entomology and insect migration. Our team includes specialists in remote sensing, population genetics, phylogeography, ecological niche modelling, and fieldwork to study pollinators, insect migration and dispersal. We are also developing new automatic camera traps using AI to monitor nocturnal insects, and we contribute to the monitoring of restoration measures for pollinators as part of the LIFE project.

biodiversity conservation, insect ecology, habitat restoration, land use, climate, insect monitoring, insect migration, lepidoptera, orthoptera
Our lab and I would be interested in joining a project consortium for the upcoming call.

l would probably focus on my expertise in arthropods biodiversity under land use and/or climate change, and on new concepts for halting biodiversity loss on a broader scale.

In general, we can offer expertise in the fields described above. However, we could also help to establish a project independently in cooperation with others.

I look forward to connecting with you to develop any ideas further.
