Future Oceans Lab is an interdisciplinary research group working at the interface of marine ecology, climate change, and social sciences to advance the conservation and sustainable management of marine social-ecological systems. The group develops science-based solutions for climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem-based management, and marine spatial planning by integrating ecological, socioeconomic, and governance perspectives. Our research combines field ecology, spatial analyses, participatory approaches, and decision-support tools to co-design adaptation pathways and support evidence-based marine policy.

We are seeking to contribute to projects where our expertise in marine connectivity, ecosystem functioning, biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, and socio-ecological systems can complement ecological, modelling, and conservation research. Our group has extensive experience in interdisciplinary research, stakeholder co-production, participatory approaches, vulnerability and adaptation assessments, and translating science into management and policy. We are particularly interested in collaborations addressing the resilience, restoration, and adaptive management of marine biodiversity under global change.
