I work on modelling, identification and control of ecosystems. My background is in applied mathematics and control theory. I work on different kind of systems: natural ecosystems such as lakes (with a focus on cyanobacteria blooms dynamics), exploited ecosystem such as agricultural systems (with a focus on the impact of herbivores on agroecosystems and carbon storage), and ecosystem in controlled environment such as bioprocesses (with a focus on the modelling and control of wine fermentation). I develop models that are mostly composed of deterministic nonlinear differential equations, but in my team we also work on hybrid modelling approaches combining ODE and machine learning. I'm also interested in the development of methods for the calibration or identification of models and for the control of systems.
I'd like to join a project where there is need of modelling or development of methods related to the simulation or control of ecosystems. The other members of my research unit have skills in data sciences, computer sciences, machine learning and can also be interested in such project. In the unit we develop mathematical, statistical and computational methods for the analysis and decision support of agronomic and environmental systems,
Projects on lake ecosystems will be of particular interest for me as I already worked on these ecosystems. However, I am also open to discussing other ecosystems.
