I am looking
for a project to join
I am an architect and urban designer by training.
I have conducted biometeorological research on buildings and urban areas.
My research focuses primarily on thermal design in both built and green spaces, including:
- Urban heat islands, heat-related health risks, and adaptation strategies
- Biophilia/Biophobia, thermal comfort, and well-being
- Nature- and water-based solutions
In relation to the Biodiversa call, I look forward to contributing my expertise in:
- Urban heat modelling and measurement from a flora/fauna behavior and health perspective
- Hygrothermal monitoring of soil (including green roofs and walls) and water bodies
The tools include thermal imaging, and real-atmospheric measurement over green wall/roofs, and fauna/flora sampling around buildings.

Public Health and Environmental Health
I am eager to collaborate with ecologists, dendrologists, entomologists, and zoologists, etc.
Here are some example for interdisciplinary collaboration between urban heat island/building technologies (my expetise) and ecosystem/biodiversity/biology (your expertise)
- Snail shell colour evolution in urban heat islands detected via citizen science (doi.org/10.1038/s42003-019-0511-6) - Building biodiversity into the urban fabric: A case study in applying Biodiversity Sensitive Urban Design (BSUD) (doi.org/10.1016/j.ufug.2021.127176) - Trees on buildings: A design framework (doi.org/10.1016/j.scitotenv.2022.155603)
urban climate, urban heat island, meteorology, climate resilience, nature-based solution, green building, urban noise, urban glare, air pollution, human comfort
Conferences related to biodiversity: BioSpace Conferences related to meteorology: European Meteorological Society (EMS) Annual Meeting, International Conference on Urban Climate (ICUC) Conferences related to green buildings: World Congress on Green Roofs and Façades, Passive and Low Energy Architecture (PLEA)
Other design related conferences: Dutch Design Week, Biennial Venice architecture
