I am a Research Associate and Assistant Professor at the University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty, where I have been part of the Chair for Agrarian Economics, Policy and Law since 2017. My team specialises in the socio-economic aspects of biodiversity conservation in the agricultural ecosystems and the related EU policies.
Research work: - farmers', consumers', stakeholders' and public preferences, decision-making and behaviour in the context of biodiversity conservation and sustainable food systems; - experimental, impact and policy evaluations of agricultural, conservation and knowledge transfer policies; - economics and sustainable development of agricultural systems in the High Nature Value farmland; - analyses of agricultural land use impacts on farmland biodiversity.
We are seeking to participate in a project focusing on restoration efforts in agricultural ecosystems, with a focus on two key areas. First, we are interested in the strategies for setting the restoration objectives and evaluation approaches in multi-stakeholder settings with conflicting interests, typical for agricultural ecosystems in Europe (Topic 1). Second, given the limited scale of current restoration efforts in European agricultural landscapes, especially in regions with predominantly private landownership, we would also like to investigate the barriers to upscaling these initiatives and their potential transferability to other areas, particularly in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (Topic 2).
