I’m research of Institute of Animal Science and lecture in Faculty of Animal Breeding, Bioengineering and Conservation in Warsaw and Head of Test Laboratory of Animal Breeding Department. Member and head of warsaw posse of Polish Association Zootechnics 2002-2025. Conducted many research works especially in cattle and goats, author or co-author of over 200 publications and papers, mainly in Acta Veterinaria Brno, Journal of Agiculture and Food Science, One Plos and Journal Dairy Science. I cooperate with numerous scientific institutions in Poland and abroad, including the Institute of Genetics and Biotechnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Jastrzębiec, the Institute of Animal Physiology and Nutrition of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Jabłonna, and NIBIO from Norway. My skills are proven by my completed post-graduate studies at the Chemistry Department of the Warsaw University in the scope of "Applications of chemistry in the environmental protection" (2001/2002) and at Warsaw Medical University and Analytical Centre of WULS in the scope of "Modern instrumental analytical methods in tests of the health safety of the food and fodders" (2009/2010). In 2022, I was awarded a medal as a scientist personality in the independent competition 50 Top list of organic.
Livestock Production
My scientific interests include the protection of genetic resources, especially native cattle, research on the quality of animal products, especially milk and meat, and their comparison between organic and conventional production. Recently I have started cooperation with farmers who breed beef cattle in extensive production conditions with the principles of regenerative agriculture, using year-round grazing and the bale grazing system. One of them is a leaseholder of 70 ha of wooded area with over 100-year-old oaks and pines, who wants to maintain the biodiversity of this area through quarter grazing of Polish Red cattle - a breed whose genetic resources are protected. We want to prepare a project within Biodiversa. The aim of the project will be to check how the grazing of native Polish Red cattle in the sylvopastoralism system affects the formation of biodiversity of the environment and affects the health of cattle and the quality of beef. We have a preliminary soil examination in terms of microbiota.
