I have a consolidated expertise in in vivo rodent models of cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases. I focues my reaserch activity on investigation of natural-derived (marine and terrestrial) and synthetic molecules capable to protect cardiovascular system against several kind of injuries, including ischemia-reperfusion, metabolic disorders and aging. I am also able to work on isolated mitochondria in order to explore the contribution of the molecules or extracts on the functional parameters, such as mitochondrial membrane potential or ion flows, trough potentiometric and spectrofluorimetric approaches. I am able to reproduce in acute and in chronic several model of cardiovascular diseases (for exomple, myocardail infarct, hypertension o metabolic syndrome, diabetes) in order to study preventive/curative approaches.

Pharmacology

I would interested to join in a project on marine biodiversity, marine pharmacology, focused on the exploration of new preventive/therapeutic approaches for treting cardiovascular and cardiometabolic diseases, in which I could propose my experties.
