- Biodiversity of Symbiotic Organisms: Specializing in the study of helminths, protozoans, including fungi-like organisms (microsporidians). - Ecological Indicators: Utilising parasites as early warning indicators in ecological studies. - Environmental DNA Analysis: Conducting eDNA analyses to assess biodiversity and monitor ecosystem health. - Host-Parasite Relationships: Investigating interactions between hosts and their parasites. - Molecular Pathogen Screening: Performing molecular screening for pathogens to understand disease dynamics. - Macroecological Approaches: Applying macroecological frameworks to disentangle the mechanisms of invasive species success in new ecosystems. Current Project: Investigating the taxonomy and diversity of parasites in native and invasive freshwater crustaceans (Amphipoda: Gammaridae) to enhance environmental monitoring and inform conservation biology efforts.
