Project is focused on climate smart forestry (CSF), specifically the relationship between soil biology (soil biodiversity) and forest structure.
Changing forest management practices in "central" Europe to more structured and species rich forests will be reflected in soil conditions and carbon sequestration but will also have sizeable socio-economic impact. The aim of the study is to evaluate the trade offs.
By a bottom-up multi-stakeholder approach we aim to develop participative strategies for wider adoption of climate smart forestry. Regionally, nationally in project countries (CZE, GER, AUT, POL) and possibly upscale the solutions to EU scale.

We are currently looking for socio-economic experts to cover socio-cultural and economic drivers and challenges of CSF introduction or someone, who will expand on the work done in previous evaluative and R&D packages and through policy assessment will be able to scale up solutions to national and EU levels by developing action plans and strategies (ideally with the direct participation of stakeholders in our transnational work package).
