Associated professor of Ecology and Applied Ecology, I study the mechanisms underlying the maintenance of biodiversity and the relationships between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in contexts of climate change. In particular, research focuses on interspecific relationships and aquatic and soil food webs and their responses to anthropogenic environmental changes through the application of stable isotopes with a focus on pollution, climate change and biological invasions and control. My latest ongoing project concerns the role of habitat degradation and food web structure in the performance of wetlands as carbon sinks.
