I am looking for a project to join
Eurosite is a unique NGO networking organisation founded in 1989 and based in the Netherlands. Born out of the need to network on technical site management issues, Eurosite offers its members opportunities to compare their practices, exchange and share information, and learn about effective ways to manage their sites. Currently, the Eurosite network comprises more than 80 governmental, nongovernmental, and individual members from 25 European countries).

Wojciech Mróz is a project officer at Eurosite, the European Land Conservation Network. His work focuses on biodiversity, peatland management and restoration, and the use of remote sensing in nature monitoring. He has 24 years of professional experience in a variety of roles in multi-stakeholder projects, as a field research technician, GIS data analyst, independent researcher, head of a scientific department (Polish Academy of Sciences), project coordinator, international expert, independent ecological consultant, and most recently project officer at Eurosite (since 2019). He was responsible for the development and implementation of the national system of natural habitat monitoring in Poland. His M.Sc. thesis dealt with vegetation dynamics in the periglacial zone of Arctic lakes and on nunataks (Svalbard). His Ph.D. was focused on vegetation changes as a result of human pressure on subalpine habitats in the Eastern Carpathians (Poland and Ukraine).

We are interested to join a consortium within the currect call "Biodiversity and Transformative Change". We would be particularly interested in monetising biodiversity, finding ways of assessing biodiversity to bring its value to the market, but focusing research on a methodology of standardised biodiversity indicators - something better than species diversity; combining alpha, beta and gamma diversity and the potential role of habitats in NRL, Natura 2000 and climate change mitigation, Such a gold standard (which could be transferred to the biodiversity credit market).
biodiversity credits, natural habitats, peatland restoration, nature monitoring, remote sensing, biodiversity indicators, nature restoration law, natura 2000, climate change mitigation, species diversity
