Among others, my fields of expertise are fish taxonomy and systematics, fish biology and ecology, fish larval development, invasive species, and sustainable fisheries managements.
To achieve these interests, I integrate traditional ichthyology with molecular-based methods, such as DNA barcoding, population genetics and eDNA metabarcoding surveys.

In general, the work performed in the lab is divided between science-based ichthyology to compliance and governmental monitoring projects in both marine and freshwater environments.
