Our Research Unit UMMISCO has an extensive experience in applying AI techniques to a wide range of biodiversity data and issues: e-DNA of the digestive microbiota for cardio-vascular disease identification, marine e-DNA for species identification and abundance assessment, analysis of submarine videos for species identification and abundance assessment, e-DNA for plant metabarcoding, traits extraction from collection specimen images, segmentation and organs detection in such images, LLMs for naturalistic text mining and for chatbot-like user interaction, comparative study of legal texts on biodiversity access in marine coastal areas.
