Professor in Plant Biology and currently the Vice President of the University of Gabès, Tunisia. Our research team is working on the spontaneous plants conservation and valorisation for food and pharmaceutic applications. We are specially interested in plant speicies growing wil in dry lands of the arid zone. Indeed, the flora of the southern zone of Tunisia has been found to be very rich in bioactive molecules and of nutraceutical value. In cooperation with the Institute of Arid Regions, the agricultural business incubator and the agricultural investment agency, we are working on the technological transfer of research results in order to initiate the creation of start-ups in innovative projects in agriculture and biotechnology.
We are an active research team interested in wild plant species biodiversity and valorization in sustainable manner. In particular, we are working in endangered and under used plants growing in arid lands.
