I am a senior scientific researcher specializing in marine biology. For over 14 years, I have been carrying out research and monitoring of benthic fauna on the Romanian coast of the Black Sea. I have published over 24 ISI papers and over 17 papers published in wide national and international bases (SCOPUS, etc.). I am involved in over 30 national and international projects and over 10 contracts that have as objects of activity, the monitoring of water quality status through the study of benthic fauna, citizen science through meetings with stakeholders at the local, regional and national level discussing the concept of blue growth, educational activities for primary, secondary and high school students regarding the protection of the environment, especially the seas and oceans. Co-coordinator of the bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses of the students who carry out their research activities within our institute.

I would like to join a broad thematic project under the BiodivTransform initiative, specifically focusing on the interlinked crises of biodiversity loss, climate change, and pollution. My interest lies in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research that seeks to understand the complex trade-offs and cross-linkages between these crises. I am particularly interested in projects that aim to safeguard biodiversity and ecosystems through transformative change, with a strong emphasis on connecting science, society, policy, and practices. Given the scope of the call, I am open to working in various environments, including marine, coastal, and freshwater ecosystems, as well as in transition zones and integrated land/seascapes.
