We are an interdisciplinary research group focussed on the development of interactive technologies for a variety of domains and ethnographic study of work practices. We have extensive experience in researching forestry, biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation practices, and are developing digital applications to support adaption and conservation practices. Our approach entails in-depth studies of specific contexts, actors and activities, to gain contextual and deep insights into goals, relationships between actors, hurdles they might be facing and knowledge practices uderlying their actions. This serves as the foundation for the design of suitable interventions. A focus on collaborative ad participatory design practices has mae us well-versed in collaborative research and development approaches as well as the engagement of various stakeholders into projects. We have received funding from a wide variety of organisations and are experienced also in managing large research projects. We are located in one of the most forest-rich areas of Germany and have a large network locally, which allows us also to provide sites for research or development.

We are interested in joining any kind of project that requires us to a) develop specific technological application to support the different activities or practices of biodiversity conservation or b) investigate practices in-depth to (co-)develop biodiversity conservation actions, from research to protection and conservation measures. We are especially interested in projects that aim to employ Ai or machine learning technologies and/or focus on "knowledge practices".
