My field of research is environmental toxicology. I have a special interest in pollution responsive biomarkers (histological, biochemical, physiological) for their use in environmental risk assessment and monitoring programs. My test organisms are fish and mussels, and I'm currently working with heavy metal, POPs (pesticides, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, etc.) and microplastic contamination of freshwater and marine ecosystems, and its negative effects in biota and on biodiversity loss.
A project on environmental pollution and its negative effects of biodiversity loss and human health, possibly concerning the Danube River or the Black Sea.
