At our team "Polar and Cold Regions" within the department "Land surface Dynamics" of the Earth Observation Center of the German Aerospace Center, we focus on the remote sensing of the cryosphere. We offer an extensive knowledge of the analysis of time series on a large variety of remotely sensed data. Our topics range from global snow coverage, the high resolution development of snow coverage in mountains, the observation of supraglacial lakes in Antarctica and Greenland, and the detection of calving fronts of shelf ice. For these topics, several products were developed and automatically calculated with High-Performance Data Analytics (HPDA).
We are interested in joining a project where we can access new applications for cryospheric products and provide solutions. Especially the change of snow coverage has a major impact on the biodiversity, here we like to provide our knowledge for a joint project.
