Monitoring the Resilience of Coral and Coralligenous habitats in the Canakkale Strait (Dardanalles) focusing specifically on the Marine Protected Area ; Coral and Coralligenous habitats along the shores of the Dardanelles Strait will be identified and monitored seasonally for a period of two years, with a focus on Corals and Coralligenous habitats. Potential threats to these habitats will also be determined. The data collected in accordance with general monitoring trends on an international scale will be used to make the region's trends in Coral and Coralligenous habitats comparable to those in the Mediterranean. An open database will be created for future monitoring projects, and potential threat factors in the region will be identified. Samples will be taken seasonally in the Dardanelles Strait over a two-year period. The photo-quadrat method will be used to calculate species composition in addition to species identification. For species where there are identification problems, genetic analysis will be performed. The phenomenon of convergent evolution, coupled with the presence and prevalence of cryptic species, has posed challenges in morphological classification studies. To overcome this, the DNA barcoding method is employed. At the end of the study, the obtained datasets will be organized in accordance with global standards and shared in compliance with an open data policy with the aim of contributing to the global and local biodiversity database.
