Field of interest is plant science, and has been involved in the isolation, bioactivity and function of secondary metabolites and peptides from plants, and recently has been involved on metabolomics and medicinal chemistry. Currently coordinates two national long term projects (FAPESP/CNPq) and two international Projects (Leipzig University/UNESP grant supported FAPESP/DFG; SPRINT FAPESP/ Future Industries Institute (FII/UniSA), Adelaide - Australia

Organic Chemistry

The main focus of CIBFar Long Project is to perform basic and applied science and to develop advanced analytical technologies to study secondary metabolites from Brazilian biodiversity aimed at potential drug discovery. Also, the state-of-the-art methods in medicinal chemistry is be developed for the bioactive natural products aiming the identification of potential antitumoral and neglected diseases "leads".
