I am looking for a partner (for my project)
We require a project collaborator whose team has experience in addressing the challenges of climate change and species distribution modeling. Given the complexity and interdisciplinary nature of the project, assembling a diverse team with these areas of expertise is crucial for its success. Collaborative efforts will help ensure that the project can address the multifaceted challenges posed by invasive species and climate on endemic plant species in the Mediterranean ecosystems.

The purpose of this study is to predict the impact of climate change on the future distribution ranges of species belonging to the Pinus genus naturally occurring in the Mediterranean basin, understand and monitor the distribution behavior of these species, develop adaptation strategies by conducting threat assessments, determine the location and size of conservation and reserve areas, conduct biodiversity monitoring, and contribute to the conservation of ecosystems, sustainable management of natural resources, and ecological research. To achieve this goal, a total of 10 taxa of the Pinus genus naturally occurring in the Mediterranean basin have been identified, including Pinus brutia Ten., Pinus nigra Arnold., Pinus pinea L., Pinus pinaster, Pinus sylvestris L., Pinus halepensis Mill., Pinus mugo Turra, Pinus heldreichii Christ., Pinus canariensis Chr. Sm., and Pinus uncinata Ram. The study models the distribution ranges for the periods 2041-2060, 2061-2080, and 2081-2100 using climate models and associated socio-economic scenarios.
