My research group (Geobiology Group) has expertise in classical microbiology, microbial molecular biology, description and analysis of microbial communities from environmental samples, microbial carbonate precipitation, microbial adaptation to chemical pollutants and to climate changes.
The aim of the project is to understand the dinamics of microbial isolates and communities from southern Brazilian costal lakes regarding their ability of precipitating carbonates (which is a metabolic traint that capture CO2 from the environment) under increasing water temperature and acidification - simulating future climate scenarios.
