With a background in urban and regional planning, myself and my colleague Assoc. Prof. Michael Lennon can provide expertise at the science-policy interface, particularly in better understanding societal attitudes and diverse value systems in which NbS are applied, and analyse user and stakeholder conflicts around NbS implementation. Potential approaches include participative research with citizens and stakeholders through classical means such as focus groups and interviews, but also through novel means such as serious games and empowering citizens with sensors and tools for citizen science and mapping of NbS at a fine-grained local scale.
