I am an Assistant Professor for Nature Conservation Planning at the Institute of Landscape Development, Recreation and Conservation Planning (ILEN) at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). My research focuses on integrative ecosystem analysis and the development and application of systematic & strategic planning approaches for the protection, conservation and sustainable use of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. In the past, I also had a strong focus on the impacts of multiple stressors on fish assemblages across Europe. My research supports, among others, the implementation of EU directives (e.g. WFD, Habitats Directive) and contributes to knowledge exchange with administration, policy and other stakeholders. I am interested in GIS-based conservation (optimization) approaches as a basis for management strategies in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
