Débora De Freitas is an Ocenographer with PhD in environmental sciences and coastal studies by James Cook University Australia and complementary studies in marine policy by the Center for the Study of Marine Policy/Delaware University. Currently she works at São Paulo State University (Brazil) teaching and researching in a myriad of topics related to ocean-coast interactions including oceans governance, marine spatial planning, climate adaptation, socioenvironmental vulnerability, coastal blue carbon. She is a member of Tropical Water Research Alliance, International Instutitue for Sustanaibility Australia, and Brazil Oceans Decade. We are interested in researching blue carbon sequestration by coastal ecosystem, particularly mangroves, and modelling of management scenarios. So, we are seeking for partners among eligible countries to collaborate on developing a project focused on the social and environmental aspects of nature-based solutions for biodiversity, human well-being and transformative change of coastal vulnerable environments and societies.
blue carbon, coastal ecossystems, mangroves, vulnerable communities, ecosystem services, nature based solution, climate change, carbon hotspot, anthropogenic disturbances
Looking for opportunities related to coastal ecosystems, carbon sequestation, climate adaptation, socioenvironmental vulnerability
